No, renewal is not required. There is no expiration date on the certification, as we believe doulas and care providers tend to gain more experience and advance in their skills over time. However, we periodically update our course materials to ensure that you have access to the latest information and best practices. You’ll have ongoing access to these updates at no additional cost. We do this intentionally to make the course more accessible. Your certification remains valid indefinitely.

Once you’ve completed all course requirements, you can submit your materials for review at any time. The review and approval process typically takes 7-10 business days, after which you’ll receive your official certification.

Here are a few options and suggestions:
Alternative interviews: If you’re unable to connect with a professional in the required role (e.g., a Certified Infant Care Specialist), you may be allowed to substitute with two caregiver or parent interviews instead. These can be with families you’ve supported in the past or individuals open to sharing their experiences.
Reach out to your extended network: Sometimes a friend, coworker, or acquaintance knows someone who fits the criteria—you just have to ask around.
Post in local or online groups: Try parenting forums, Facebook groups, Nextdoor, or doula-related communities. Mention that it’s a short interview for a certification course.
